Winnipeg, MB – Stonewall’s Amy Martin has been chosen to represent Manitoba at the 2021 Capital City Challenge taking place in Ottawa, Ontario from November 26 – December 1, 2021. The 2021 Capital City Challenge is a four-team tournament featuring three men’s under-17 teams and Canada’s National Women’s Team. 66 players will be divided into three teams – Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red and Team Canada White – and will compete against Canada’s National Women’s Team as part of its centralization schedule.

“I’m really looking forward to it. To have an opportunity to skate with the National Women’s team has absolutely been a dream. It’s really exciting to be able to share the ice with those women,” Amy Martin said. “I’m also looking forward to the tournament being split officials with females and males. Getting to meet some male and female counterparts from other areas of the country who I wouldn’t otherwise have crossed paths with is something that I am looking forward to.”

Amy Martin (Linesman) – A level V official, Amy recently officiated at the 2021 Western Regional Women’s Under-18 Championship in Portage la Prairie, including working the gold medal game. Amy currently officiates U Sports women’s hockey, the Capital Region Junior Hockey League, the Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League, and the Manitoba Male U18 AAA Hockey League. Amy has been officiating for 14 years and has represented Hockey Manitoba at several National Women’s U18 Championships, including working the gold medal game at the 2019 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Morden.
